How to Take Out Ford Ranger Seats

by Allen Moore

The Ford Ranger comes with either two bucket seats or one bench seat, depending on how the selling dealer initially ordered it. The seat covers and cushioning can break down over time until they reach a point where you have to replace them. While you can simply put cheap seat covers on them, if you want to enjoy the initial quality once again it's best to replace the entire seat assembly. Anyone with a modicum of automotive-repair experience can take out Ford Ranger seats in less than one hour.

Step 1

Slide the driver's seat bottom as far forward as it will go.

Step 2

Remove the bolts from the driver's seat rear legs using your socket set.

Step 3

Slide the seat bottom as far backward as it will go.

Step 4

Remove the bolts from the driver's seat front legs using your socket set.

Step 5

Fold the driver's seat's seat-back as far forward as it will go. Lift the seat up by hand and take it out of the Ranger.

Step 6

Repeat steps one through five on the passenger seat.
