3. Rub lemon juice onto your scars. It contains bleaching properties that will help lighten dark scars.

4. Make an appointment with a doctor. Once the doctor has seen your scars, he can advise you whether you'll need surgery or not. Laser surgery, skin grafts and excision are all surgical procedures used to reduce scars.
