How to Code a One Touch Meter
One Touch Blood Glucose Meters are manufactured by LifeScan, Incorporated. They are known for their accuracy and ease of use. Diabetics who need to closely monitor their blood glucose levels use a meter to accomplish the task. By placing a drop of blood on a test strip inserted into the machine, the meter provides a digital read-out showing a number. Before a new box of test strips can be used in a One Touch Meter, it must be coded. That means the meter must be set up to correspond with the strips so accurate readings can be made. Otherwise, you can get blood glucose meter readings that are too low or too high. You can also receive error messages if your meter isn't coded correctly.
