How to Find Fragrance Free Soap & Shampoo

Soaps and shampoos commonly are infused with a variety of scents and perfumes. Typically, this is something the consumer enjoys. However, for health or environmental reasons, some people are in the market for fragrance-free toiletries. While they are not usually found en masse at the local grocery stores, fragrance-free soaps are not entirely elusive.

Instructions

1. Speak with an allergist, a doctor who specializes in external allergens and their effect on the human body. Fragrance in toiletries is often a source of human allergies, so an allergist can tell you know if you need hypo-allergenic and fragrance-free shampoos and soaps.

2. Check eco-friendly websites. Many companies are on an anti-fragrance bandwagon that frowns upon toiletries that are heavily scented. These sites promote a laundry list of products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, mouthwash, etc.) that are labeled as "fragrance free".

3. Locate new age or health food stores in the area for a variety of eco-friendly toiletries. Stores like Whole Foods and Wild Oats typically carry toiletries branded with the Premium Body Care symbol.
