Prepare your chosen cooking method. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil; fill your steamer with water and heat it to the manufacturer's suggestion; or heat 1 tbsp. of butter in your skillet on the stove at low heat.

    • 2

Remove the stem end of each pod by snapping it off with your fingers, and pull off the string from the inner side of the pod. Rinse the pods in lukewarm water to clean them prior to cooking.

    • 3

Add the sugar snap peas to your pot, steamer or skillet.

    • 4

Boil or steam the pods for two to three minutes, or sauté them in the skillet with butter for several minutes. If using the skillet, add more butter as needed to prevent the bottom of the skillet from drying and scorching the pods.

Remove the sugar snap peas from your cookware. Toss boiled or steamed pods in butter to taste.
