How to Remove Chrome Trim Around a Windshield

The chrome trim on the windshield of your vehicle adds an aesthetic touch to the windshield. however, if you are replacing the windshield, you need to remove it. To do this, youl need a tool called a trim removal tool. These tools can be purchased at an auto parts store. The tool looks like a small crowbar with special teeth made for removing and prying off automotive trim.

Instructions

1. Locate the edge of the chrome trim you want to remove.

2. Wedge the teeth of the trim removal tool underneath the chrome trim.

3. Pry up on the trim to loosen it.

4. Grab the chrome trim piece with your fingers and gently pull up while working the rest of the trim off with the trim tool.
