How to Make Hair Bow Ribbon Streamers

Hair ribbons can make an ordinarily hairstyle look unique. Attach ribbons to simple hair rubber band or metal clip for a customized bow. The ribbons that cascade from the bow are called streamers. Sew the bow on for a stronger hold than gluing. The ribbons can match outfits or be random colors. Regular craft ribbon works well, but you can use textures or glittered ribbon. If taken care of properly the hair ribbons will last a few months.

Things You'll Need

• 1-6 rolls of half inch wide ribbon
• Yard stick
• Scissors
• Sewing needle
• Thread
• Hair rubber band or metal clip

Instructions

1. Cut three to six pieces of ribbon about two feet long. Use any combination and amount of colors.

2. Match up one end of each ribbon. Lay flat.

3. Tie a right bow.

4. Thread the needle. Sew the middle part of the bow to the rubber band or clip. The bow should face up.

5. Gently tug on the rubber band or clip to make sure its on tightly. Knot and cut off the excess thread and needle.

6. Cut the ribbons to the appropriate length.

Tips & Warnings

• Put the hair bow in the hair to decide to length. Hold onto that part of the ribbon and remove it to trim.
