The PS3 is one of the leading game and movie entertainment systems in the world. This article will discuss ps3 features in layman's terms so you can understand what each feature does. If you're looking for pure techno mumbo jumbo, you won't find it in this ps3 features article.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    PS3 Features: Uncharted 2 (PS3 Video Game)

    PS3 Features: Uncharted 2 (PS3 Video Game)

Obviously, the first great ps3 feature is its ability to play PS3 games. It's not quite a "feature", but if you're someone who doesn't understand what a PS3 does, now you know. You can't play PS3 games on any other system or computer. If you're interested in PS3 games like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, or LittleBigPlanet, you will have to buy the PS3.

  2. Step 2
    PS3 Features: Internet Connectivity

    PS3 Features: Internet Connectivity

The PS3 isn't just another gaming system; it completes every the meaning of a gaming "system". As long as you have a DSL or cable internet, you should be able to setup the PS3 to connect online for multiplayer gaming. This is accomplished thanks to the PS3 feature of including a Wi-Fi card in the system. This is one of the PS3 features that I absolutely love; I am able to play Uncharted 2 online multiplayer within minutes. Setup was really easy for my cable connection; the PS3 walks you through entering the details of your internet connection, then you test it, and violah! You're now online with your PS3.

  3. Step 3
PS3 Features: Playstation 3 Network Membership

Another great benefit of going online with the PS3 is the ability to log into the Playstation 3 Network (with a few steps, you can be a part of it for free), view and download new PS3 games and demos. The demos can be downloaded while you're doing other stuff on the PS3, which is great.

  4. Step 4
    PS3 Features: USB Ports

    PS3 Features: USB Ports

I have used the PS3 countless time to show picture slideshows on my hdtv, which always look beautiful. The system comes with two USB Ports, so you can move any data to the system with ease. Although this isn't one of the "ps3 features", you can download TVersity for free onto your computer, which can act as a media server. What does that mean? It means that once you download and install TVersity, it can help you share images, songs, etc. with the PS3 with ease.

  5. Step 5
    PS3 Features: Blu-Ray Entertainment

You can play your cds, dvds, as well as blu-ray movies on the PS3 for the best movie experience. Watching a blu-ray movie is, in fact, better than watching a movie at the movies! This isn't hype, just one of many cool ps3 features.

  6. Step 6
    PS3 Features: HDMI Output

    PS3 Features: HDMI Output

The PS3 system also offers "HDMI output" for a prestine 1080 picture. You can use the regular AV cables to connect the PS3 to the back of your tv but an HDMI connection from the back of the PS3 to the back of your tv will give you the best picture. You can buy an hdmi cable from an online store like buy.com for much cheaper than an electronics store like Best Buy.

  7. Step 7

These are the main ps3 features that show you the capabilities of the ps3. Buy one and join the legions of PS3 fans! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. If you would like to check out the Playstation 3, you can check out the "Resources" section or view the ads on the bottom.
