Moving out of your parents home for the first time is a big step. If you are getting your own place you will need to know what your budget will be. Determining your budget is a big part of having your own place, you do not want to get in over your head.

1. Determine what your rent will be. If you are unsure of the rent in your area, call a few different places to find out what the current rent is. This can give you an estimate of what your rent may be.

2. Make a rough estimate of what your expenses will be. Try to estimate a little higher than you think it will be. You can ask your parents, or a friend to help you with this. Be sure to include your bills, food costs, transportation costs, or any other expense you may have.

3. Figure out what your income will be, and see if you are making enough to cover your expenses. You may need to figure out a way to reduce your expenses, or make more money, but you need to know before you move.

4. Make sure you have enough money put away for the first month or so. After you move you can adjust your budget to fit what your expenses will be.
