To Become a Fashion Designer at a Young Age you must be willing work hard and take rejection. Taking rejection well is one advantage that you as a younger person may have over your elders. Younger people, when they set their minds to something, won't stop when rejected and this you have in your favor. The fashion industry is exciting and alluring upfront but behind the scenes, it can prove to be a different story. TV shows like Project Runway gives a realistic depiction of the type of criticism you can expect. You cannot be afraid of hard work and working long hours if you want to succeed as a fashion designer.

   Know your strengths and weakness. You must be able to sew, design, and sketch if you expect to be a fashion designer. If you are not strong in any of these areas then get the help you need. Take as many courses as you need in order to become superior in your weak areas. If you are too young for fashion college then seek these course at the high school level or privately.

   Research the field of fashion. Resources are important and even more so in the fashion industry. You must read, read, and read some more about the industry. If you truly have a bug for fashion, you are already doing a good amount of research by reading fashion magazines like Glamour, Vogue, and Elle. You must have your finger on the pulse of fashion trends and this is another benefit you have being younger.

3. 

   Become an apprentice. Seek out fashion houses that will take you on as an apprentice. You will learn enormous amounts of information about how the fashion industry functions. If landing an apprentice job proves challenging at first, then offer to volunteer as a fashion helper to get in the door.
