How to Make Paper Nativity Story Puppets
Nativity story characters are quick and easy to make. You can make them yourself, or let your kids have all the fun. Making them into puppets allows your kids to play out the nativity story over and over again. The materials are relatively easy to acquire and take little prep time. You may even consider laminating them so you can preserve them for years to come.

1
Open up a website that has nativity characters. A good site to check out is dltk-holidays.com. They have all the characters from the nativity scene ready to open up and print. You can print them in color, or in black and white.
-
2
Click on a character you want for your nativity play. This will open up another window and show you the print out.
-
-
3
Click on "File" and then "Print" to print the character. Check to see that the character has printed bold and dark. Close the window when you are satisfied with your print job.
-
4
Click on other nativity characters and print them as well. Check to see that the ink is dark and can be seen well, even from a distance.
-
5
Color in the nativity story characters if you printed them in black and white. Use markers, paint or another medium to fill in color where needed.
-
6
Cut out all the nativity characters. Follow the dashed lines, or cut around the edges of each character.
-
7
Glue a support stick onto the backside of each nativity character. Leave enough stick at the bottom so you can hold the nativity character up for story telling.
