  1. Clean It

      Empty the coffee filter of any used grounds. Rinse the pot out with warm water so there is no coffee residue left in the pot.

      Place a new filter in the filter basket and fill it with 1 cup of baking soda. Add water to the water basin and brew the water into the pot.

      Let the brewed, hot water sit in the coffee pot for 30 minutes to slowly clear away any residue.

      Empty the hot water, rinse out the pot and the coffee filter with warm water. Wash with soap and water and your pot is good as new.

    Sanitize the Coffee Pot

      Fill the kitchen sink with cool water. Add one cap full of bleach to the water.

      Place the clean coffeepot and filter basket in the bleach water for 10 seconds.

      Allow them to air dry and then place back into the Mr. Coffee coffeepot holder.
