The 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT mini-van is equipped with a cabin air filter that filters dust and allergens out of the passenger compartment. Dodge recommends replacing the cabin filter either once a year or after every 10,000 miles. The cabin air filter in the 2005 Grand Caravan SXT is located in a place that is different from most vehicles. Once you know how to access the filter, you can replace it with a new one when needed.

Step 1

Locate the access door under the dashboard on the passenger side. The door is a few inches from the floor.

Step 2

Pull the slide bar on the access door toward you until it drops down.

Step 3

Pull toward the rear of the Grand Caravan SXT to remove the access door. The filter is exposed in the access compartment.

Step 4

Pull the filter straight down toward the floor to remove it. A new filter can be installed by sliding it up into the filter cavity.

Step 5

Replace the access door and push it in until it locks into position.
