Instructions

    • 1

Add a capful of synthetic wig shampoo or gentle baby shampoo to a sink full of cool water. For wigs that have a strong odor, such as cigarette smoke, add a teaspoon of baking soda.

    • 2

Be very gentle with your wig, swishing it back and forth in the water for about 1 minute to fully saturate it in the water shampoo mix. Make sure to gently scrub the front area of your wig (the part that meets the forehead) to thoroughly clean it.

    • 3

Let your wig sit in the water about 15 minutes and then let the water drain out of the sink. Rinse your wig under cool water to rinse out the shampoo.

    • 4

To get the excess water out of your wig, gently squeeze it from the top of the hair down to the ends of the strands. Repeat if necessary. Do not rub or twist the hair during this process or you may ruin the shape of your wig.

Allow the wig to air dry on a towel. Spread the wig out and lightly spray it with leave-on synthetic wig conditioner. Allow it a couple of hours to dry, usually 8 to 10 hours. After the wig has dried completely, you can gently restyle your synthetic wig. Shake your wig and fluff by hand. If needed, use a hair pick to gently pick the hair back into place.
