How to Join Bunk Beds to Make a King Bed
Two bunk beds, or two twin mattresses, can be joined easily to make one king-size bed. If you're looking to make a bigger bed out of some mattresses around the house, or need to outfit a guest bedroom to make visitors comfortable, it's almost as easy said as it is done. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 7 mm Allen wrench
- Phillips screwdriver
- 2 twin mattresses (equal dimensions)
- 1 king bed frame
- 1 king bed bridge
- 1 set king sheets

Remove the top bunk from the bottom bunk and work on them sequentially.

Remove any safety-lock screws from the headboard and footboard, using the Phillips screwdriver and the Allen wrench.

Disengage side rails from both the headboard and footboard brackets.

Place your two twin (bunk) beds within a king-size bed frame as close together as possible.

Place the bed bridge in the small space between the two twin mattresses, making sure to form a tight seal between the two.

Cover your two mattresses with king bed sheets.
