Downloading "apps" on the iTouch is simple using the iTunes App store. App is short for "Application.". The App Store is the main source for downloading applications for all iPod users. All you need is an iTunes account (they are free) and an iTouch with data downloading enabled (refer to your carrier plan). The majority of apps are free, however, certain games, music, movies and television shows will cost you.

Turn the iTouch on. Tap the icon that reads "App Store.". Enter you login information if necessary.

Browse by category or tap the search bar to enter the name of the app you are looking for.

Tap the name of the app you want to download. This will take you to its description page. Make note of the price (if any) associated with the app. If it's not free, it will be charged to the bill or credit card associated with your iTunes account automatically.

Tap the "Install." button. Enter you iTunes information one more time. Wait while the app downloads. By default, all apps download to the iTouch homescreen.

Tap the icon of the newly download app to begin running the app.
