Tips & Warnings
If this remedy does not work, you can apply an over-the-counter formula containing salicylic acid, such as Compound W. This treatment can take two to three months. If over-the-counter treatments don't work, a doctor can prescribe stronger formulas, such as a retinoid cream to disrupt the wart's growth. Laser surgery and freezing with liquid nitrogen have also been used, but those are usually performed as last-resort options.
