How to Get the Best Sound From Your Car Subwoofer

Installing a subwoofer into your car is very important if you want the best sound. People purchase subwoofers mainly to get a better and more powerful bass sound. The sound you want comes from the conversion of the currents to sound, produced due to magnetic coils in the subwoofer. This means a better musical experience. But if your subwoofers are not correctly in place, it can hinder the sound.

Instructions

1. Choose the best area to install your subwoofers. You will most likely want to place the subwoofers in the trunk. You may want to experiment with locations in the trunk to see what sound you like the best. You will very likely find that the best sound is created when the subwoofers are close to the back seats.

2. Remove material from the area you'll place the subwoofer. Once you choose the place, remove the carpeting in that area. Next, clean the areas where the carpet has been removed. Apply material such as Dynamat or Accumat to deaden any rattling.

3. Connect the subwoofer correctly to your car's audio system. Typically, the wiring kit will come with "how to" instructions. Attach the wire to the positive terminal that runs to the amplifier. A ground wire also must be installed. This connects to any metal part of your car and runs to the ground terminal located on the amplifier. The last wire connects to the back of your CD player. This wire will turn on when your car's battery starts. If your wiring is incorrect, the sound quality will be very poor if audible at all.

4. Check the settings for the subwoofer. These will affect the sound. Your subwoofer's instructions should tell you how each setting works.

5. Fold down the back seat of your car if possible. This will open up the sound. The sounds will then spill into the passenger part of the car. No matter where you are seated, the sound quality should be excellent.

6. Adjust your music player. Whether you are using a CD player, MP3 player, or cassette player, the settings will affect how the subwoofer sounds. Specifically pay attention to the bass level settings.
