Instructions

    • 1

Cut the flaps off one side of a priority mail box. Your magazine holder will stand vertically, with the short, narrow sides at the top and base and the long, narrow sides at the front and back.

    • 2

Measure 6 inches from the base along the box front. Mark your measurement on the left and right sides.

    • 3

Measure 12 inches from the base along the box back. Mark your measurement on the left and right sides.

    • 4

Line your ruler up along the marks and draw a diagonal line to connect them. Complete this step on both sides of your box.

    • 5

Cut along the lines with your utility knife.

    • 6

Cut a piece of cloth to fit around your box exterior. Add 1/2 inch on all sides to account for the turn-in. Fold raw edges under and press with an iron to keep them in place.

    • 7

Wrap the fabric around the box, making sure it extends 1/2 inch over the box edge on all sides.

    • 8

Glue the fabric edges along the box's back, making sure they overlap.

    • 9

Pinch cloth into points, with right sides facing, at the corner of each base and cut along the fold to create miters. Glue onto base.

    • 10

Fold fabric into magazine holder interior and glue into place.
