How to Make a Large Quantity of Apple Crisp for a Crowd/Group of 150

Feeding a large group of people and need easy recipes for a crowd? I'm including several and this one is for making Apple Crisp. It is enough to serve 140-150 people. Also Check out my other recipes for crowds. You don't have to worry about doing the math. It is done for you. Go to a Food Warehouse or Food Club to purchase your large quantities like Sam's Club, Gordon Foods, or other places. You can often sign up for an account and they can give you discounts for large quantity purchases. If you are a not-for-profit organization, you can maybe get special discounts or other deals. Call ahead to make sure they have everything you need or in case you need to pre-order. Read through everything before getting started.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 quarts apples, sliced
  • 6 T. Cinnamon
  • 10 C. water or fruit juice
  • 3 quarts of sugar
  • 10 C. flour
  • 4 1/2 C butter
  • 1 gal. Oatmeal
  • THREE 18 X 26 X 2 inch sprayed pans
  1. Step 1

    Divide apple slices into the 2 sprayed 18 X 26 X 2 inch pans. Mix cinnamon and water in a large pitcher or bowl and pour the mixture over the apples in all three pans.

  2. Step 2

    In a very large mixing bowl, Mix the sugar, flour, Oatmeal, and butter until crumbly; then sprinkle the mixture over the apples.

  3. Step 3

    Bake in a 450 degree oven for 5 minutes, then lower the temperature to 400 degrees and bake for 25-35 minutes or until apples are tender when a knife pierces in them.

  4. Step 4

    Serve warm with whipped cream. Nutmeg may be added to the cream if desired. Makes 140-150 servings.
