Lower Blood Pressure Naturally - 5 Ways to Lower Your Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is when your blood flows through your arteries at a really high pressure. Normal blood pressure is 120 over 80 and a high blood pressure is 140 over 90. High blood pressure can ruin your vessels and cause a stroke, heart attack or heart disease. If you closely watch your health, you can treat your pressure so it doesn't affect you as much.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Healthy diet: By starting off with a healthy diet, especially for low fat foods - you can lower your blood pressure. Start off by replacing your favorite high fat foods, but make sure you do it in a gradual way. For example, put down the pizza or Doritos and replace it with a zesty salad with oil and crunchy cucumbers. If you want something sweet for dessert, make a smoothie made of all fruits and blend it up. Don't add sugar.

  2. Step 2

No smoking or tobacco: I'm sure you already aware of this, but let me say it again - smoking is very bad for your health. Instead, try to get the patches or replace one cigarette each day with a gum. You can do this gradually if you are addicted.

  3. Step 3

Sit back and relax: Start to relax more often. You can sit in your favorite relaxing chair and get your blood circulating. Ask your spouse for a message every few nights. Any sort of message or pressure against the skin will definitely get your blood moving and in return you will feel much more healthy.

  4. Step 4

Exercising: If you are overweight, you can try running each morning. Start with five minutes each day at the park and then try to bump it up by ten to fifteen minutes. Don't do this quickly because you can burn yourself out.

  5. Step 5

Go to the Dr: This is a must! Often, the doctor will prescribe you medicine that will help your blood pressure often. One medicine is called Diuretics which can help get rid of sodium and fluids, that way your blood doesn't have to carry extra fluids. They also have beta-blockers. These will block rising adrenaline. There are many more medicines that are available for you, so it is always a good idea to visit your Dr.
