How to Use Vicks VapoRub

Vicks VapoRub is one of the most popular cold remedies. It has been around a very long time; most of our grandparents used Vicks VapoRub as children. The primary use for Vicks VapoRub is as a temporary cough reliever. You can also use it as a rub for achy muscles. Many of us find the scent and the warming sensation soothing. Vicks VapoRub also soothes sore throats and helps you breathe a little better.

Instructions

    • 1

      Rub a thick layer of Vicks VapoRub on your chest and/or neck.

    • 2

      Cover the area with a towel.

    • 3

      Repeat up to three times a day.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wear loose clothing around the area where you will apply the VapoRub.

  • Do not use VapoRub on children under two.

  • Wash your hands right after applying VapoRub, and be careful not to rub your eyes with VapoRub on your hands.

  • Do not eat VapoRub or put it in your nose.

  • Do not use VapoRub with tight bandages.
