How to Clean a Hairpiece
A hairpiece, like normal hair, can get dirty on a daily basis. Dirt, dust and other particles can accumulate on it; styling products can build up. This can make the hairpiece hard to style and make you look untidy. Cleaning your hairpiece properly will help make it last longer. Does this Spark an idea?

Inspect your hairpiece with your fingers for any loose dirt or debris. Shake it vigorously and gently brush it to remove them.

Pour 4 tbsp. of shampoo in a clean bowl filled with warm water. You can use any type of shampoo if your hairpiece is made of real human hair. If it is made of synthetic fibers, use a shampoo specified for that type of hairpiece.

Place your hairpiece in the bowl and swish it around for a few minutes. Cover the bowl and let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Fill up another bowl with clean water and add 4 tbsp. of hair conditioner. Use conditioner made for synthetic hair fibers if necessary.

Remove your hairpiece from the bowl filled with shampoo and rinse it under warm running water for a few minutes.

Put your hairpiece in the bowl filled with conditioner, swish for a few minutes and let it sit for one minute.

Remove the hairpiece and rinse it under running water.

Place the hairpiece on a clean, dry towel until it fully dries. You can also use a blow dryer on a low setting. Never use a blow dryer on a synthetic hairpiece.

Brush your hairpiece with a clean brush or comb when it has dried. Avoid brushing a wet hair piece, since this can cause the hair strands to come off.
