On the Home page, click the "Create an Invitation" button located near the top center of the page.

Once on the Choose a Design page, you will see displayed themes based on the time of year. Use the scroll buttons to the left and right of the page to view some of the more popular themes, click on a design category, or look for other themes using the "Search" box. For a Valentine's Day invitation, type words such as "valentine," "love," "heart," or colors such as "red" or "pink" into the "Search" box. Click on the designs for a larger view of the invitation, which offers an idea of what the inside will look like. When you have found your desired invitation, click "Select" in the preview box.

On the Enter Details page, type your contact information, message, and party details into the appropriate fields. You can also select other options such as asking to receive emails when guests reply or including a headcount of how many children (or partners) each recipient will bring.
Click "Preview" to see a working copy of the invitation. Go back to your invitation by clicking the "Edit" button found at the top right of the page.

Click the "Add Guests" button to enter the email addresses of your guests. You can type in email addresses, cut and paste them, or import them from most major email providers.

When you are satisfied with the invitation, click the "Send" button. If you previously logged in with your username and password, the website will automatically send your invitation. If you have not logged in or signed up for an account, enter your contact information into the appropriate fields, and then guests will receive your invitation.

Guests will receive an email with a brief message that directs them to the Evite website where they will be able to find event details, RSVP, and see the guest list.

Click the "Invitation Options" button for more details to add to the invitation, such as asking guests to bring something. Type in your desired items, and include a quantity. The list will appear as a drop-down box below the RSVP section, where guests can select which item they will bring. When enough of each item has been selected, the option for that item will disappear.

Poll your guests if you are unsure of something about the party. Supply a question, such as "What do you want to do at the party?" and then either supply options or allow your guests to write in their own answers.

If you are unhappy with the pre-made designs, you can create your own invitation with a personalized picture. Click the "Upload New Main Image" button to browse pictures on your computer.
