How to Design Reception Cards
Reception cards are separate cards included in wedding invitations. Include them when the wedding ceremony and wedding reception take place at different locations. Unlike wedding invitations, reception cards tend to be simple and straightforward. This makes it easy to design reception cards yourself. Remember that the word "card" is deceiving. Reception cards are usually announcements on small pieces of paper, not folded cards. You're going to need access to a computer, printer and art program to design the reception cards.

1
Use a computer art and writing program to create your wedding reception cards. Each card should be about one-fourth of the size of a regular piece of paper. To create this size, use the program to divide the page into four even squares.
-
2
Choose one square to write the information. Pick a fancy but legible style of type, and center your words in the square, leaving an even border on the edges.

3
Write a greeting in the square as well as the time, date and location of the reception. Include a brief sentence about the type of reception. For example, is it a dinner party or cocktail party? Will there be dancing or formal entertainment? If a reply is required, add a note asking guests to RSVP, and include an address to send the reply.

Once you have the card written, copy the information, and paste it into the three empty boxes. Print out the page, and cut the paper to separate each box. Include the paper with your wedding invitation. Print as many copies as you need to create a reception card for each invitation.

Tips & Warnings
Adding just a quick RSVP and address can be a rather rude way to ask people for a response. Try to keep the tone of your reception card considerate by using "Please grant us the favor of a reply."
If you plan to allow children at the wedding reception, remember to include their names on the reception card. You can also make a small note at the bottom of the cards that states children are welcome. If you don't want children at the reception, do not include their names in the card. You can also make a small note at the bottom of the card stating the reception is for adults only.
