Getting Started

1
Prepare your ingredients. Always try to use leftover wax before you get fresh wax. Collect the remaining wax from other candle stumps and jars, which may not be used again. Clean up all the jars that you are going to use for pouring the wax, and make sure that they are dry. You should remember too avoid melting different wax colors or scents. The ban Marie method is suggested, which is the mode of placing the bowl over a pot of simmering hot water. Let the wax melt without burning.

2
Get the wick ready and place it in the jar where you are going to place the wax. The wick should be cut a few inches above the level of the jar. Attach these candle wicks at the inside base of the jars. This can be done by gluing them or tying its top to a pencil or wick needle to keep it in the center.

3
Pour only a 1/2 inch of the wax into the prepared jars. Do this slowly, and let the wax cool. Add some wax to each of the jars that you have prepared, and let the wax cool.

4
Experiment with the candles by decorating them. Add some aromatic scent to the wax, or decorate with glitter. You can also add a few pebbles in a jar filled with half wax. Add the remaining wax to the jar. Create the effect of stripes by pouring one color at a time, and allowing it to cool. Then, add the remaining colors in the same way.

5
Add the lid to this jar by making a hole in it with a screwdriver. The hole should be big enough to allow the wick to come out, but not big enough to make the wick fall. If the jar is feeling imbalanced, then you should add some weight to the base by adding more wax.
