How to Clean the Presto Heat Dish

The Presto heat dish is a small electric heater, which resembles a small fan, for a desktop or table. The heat dish is designed to emit heat in the direct vicinity in which it's aimed, making it the perfect-sized heater to warm a particular area, not an entire room. The Presto heat dish comes with a fairly expensive price tag, requiring the unit to be cared for properly to get the most use out of it. The unit can be cleaned with a few inexpensive items that are most likely already in your home.

Things You'll Need

• Cleaning cloth
• Water
• Can of air
• Cotton swabs

Instructions

1. Unplug the unit, waiting until it is cool to the touch before cleaning. This is the safest and easiest way to clean the Presto heat dish.

2. Wipe off the exterior of the heat dish with a dry cloth, where the most dust typically accumulates. For tough jobs, moisten the cloth with water, then continue wiping the heat dish.

3. Blow a can of air into the inside of the heat dish, where the blades of the fan are located. This will remove any dust or buildup that is on the blades, without requiring you to disassemble the unit's casing.

4. Moisten a cotton swab to get between cracks of the casing and other small fixtures of the heat dish.

5. Plug the heat dish back in after it has fully dried. It is now ready for use.

Tips & Warnings

• Remember to clean the heat dish at the beginning of each season and again at the end of each season to keep the heat dish in its best working condition. This will also eliminate the smell of burning dust that is sometimes associated with the first use of the season, when buildup is not removed prior to use.
