Apply an eyelash primer on all of your eyelashes. An eyelash primer can be found at most places that sell cosmetics. The primer is usually white and is full of tiny fibers. Apply it as you would mascara.

Apply a thin line of eyeliner at the base of your eyelid while you wait for the primer to dry. Use a black eyeliner. This makes the eyelashes appear longer than they are.

Apply one coat of mascara over your eyelashes and wait for approximately 30 seconds. Then apply one additional coat of mascara.

Separate your lashes with an eyelash comb. This will prevent clumping and will also spread your lashes out, making them appear fuller.

Use an eyelash curler to curl your eyelashes upward. This makes your eyelashes appear longer and fuller. If you don't have an eyelash curler, you can use a spoon or a finger to press the eyelashes up. Whether you're using a curler or something else, hold the eyelashes in place for 20 to 30 seconds and then release them.

There are over-the-counter products you can use, or even mascaras that claim they lengthen and improve the quality of your lashes over time. There are also eyelash medications that can be prescribed by your physician in more severe cases.
