Or, if you have signed a contract with the corporate entity, the state in which the corporation is located may be reflected in the legalese of the contract, which likely establishes a venue for any legal disputes according to the law in the state where the corporation is registered.

Visit the secretary of state's website for the state in which the corporation is established. Find the section of the website that allows users to search for corporate filings. Many states require a corporation to register with the secretary of state. This registration should include the name and address of a registered agent who can accept service for the corporation.

Contact the corporation's registered agent for additional information. The registered agent should also be the person you need to contact if you intend to have legal papers delivered to the corporation.
