How to Address a Rehearsal Dinner Invitation to a Flower Girl

Knowing the right way to address people and understanding the general grammar for formal invitations is just as important as knowing which people to invite to certain events. It is appropriate to invite the flower girl to your rehearsal dinner, as long as it is at an appropriate time and place relative to the child's age. Being mindful of how old the flower girl is before sending her the invitation is very important.

Instructions

    • 1

Address the invitation directly to the child using Miss as a title with the envelope also addressed to the child.

    • 2

Mention on the invitation that the parents are invited as chaperones to the wedding rehearsal. You can list this directly under the girl's name inside of the invitation.

    • 3

Use the appropriate grammar conventions on the invitation (spelling out all dates and addresses, except for St. for Saint and Mt. for Mount) as you would on other formal invitations.

    • 4

Take extra care in making sure that the rehearsal will be at a reasonable time so that the flower girl does not grow tired or fidgety when it comes time to walking down the aisle.

    • 5

Consider asking the parents that the flower girl not attend the dinner so that she can be well-rested for the next day's event.

Tips & Warnings

  • These conventions are also applicable to the ring bearer.
