How to Use a Dritz Cutting Board
A Dritz cutting board is a cutting surface made out of heavy Kraft board, which is a thick corrugated cardboard. These boards are covered with an assortment of patterns and markings to help you accurately measure and cut fabric or paper for sewing or craft projects. The material can then be cut directly on the board with a rotary cutter to avoid marking up the surface of your work table.

1
Place the Dritz cutting board on your work surface. The work surface needs to be flat to properly cut fabric or paper on the cutting board.
-
2
Place the fabric or paper onto the cutting board. Line the edge of the fabric up with the markings on the board to ensure an even cut.

3
Apply fabric weights on top of the material to hold it in place. You can also use paper weights or any other heavy object for this purpose.
-
4
Place a straight edge on top of the material where you want to make the cut. A ruler is one example of a straight edge although you can use any object with flat side.
-
5
Cut the material by rolling a rotary cutter over the fabric using the straight edge as a guide. You may need to go over the material with the rotary cutter more than once to cut all the way through the material.
