How to Get Off Mailing Lists for Yahoo Groups
Many organizations and special interest groups use Yahoo's Group feature to manage their email mailing lists. Yahoo! Groups is a free service that allows members to manage their own subscriptions while also offering moderation should the group owners choose to use it. You may have chosen to join a specific group, or you may have signed up for a mailing list or newsletter without realizing it was hosted at Yahoo! Groups. There are two ways to get off Yahoo! Groups mailing lists: via email and via the Yahoo! website.

Unsubscribing Using a Copy of the Message

Open the most recent copy of the message sent from your Yahoo! Group.

Scroll down to the bottom of your message. Look to the bottom right corner of the message, where you'll see the words "Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest, Unsubscribe and Terms of Use." Click on "Unsubscribe."

Allow your email program to open. Clicking "Unsubscribe" should automatically launch your email program and create a message to your Yahoo! mailing list with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. Send the message without making any changes or adding any text to it.

Return to your in-box and await your unsubscribe confirmation email. Open this message, which should read "Please reply to unsubscribe..."

Click "Reply" and send the message without changing the subject line or adding text to the message body. Await your final confirmation message to verify that you've unsubscribed.
Unsubscribing Using the Website

Visit the Yahoo! Groups website (see Resources) and log on to your Yahoo! account. Click on the link in the upper left corner that says "Manage"; it appears at the top of the column that lists your groups.

Click "Edit My Groups," which is the second tab at the top of your list of groups.

Locate the group you'd like to unsubscribe from and check the box under the "Leave Group" column. Click the blue "Save Changes" box and you will no longer receive emails from that Yahoo! Groups mailing list.
