How to Repair a Cigarette Burn in a Car
Health hazards aren't the only problems with cigarettes; dropping one inside of a car usually results in a burned car seat. The cigarette burn in the car seat is is more than just unsightly because it will tear a larger hole in the car seat if left unchecked, The burned fabric can be covered up so that only you will know that there was once a burned hole in the seat. The repair is not difficult to do and the time spent is well worth the effort.

- Fabric upholstery seat repair kit
- Soft cloth
- Utility knife
- White glue
- Foam rubber

Moisten a soft cloth in water. Gently rub the soft coth against the cigarette burn hole in the fabric of the car seat. Remove as much of the burned fabric debris as possible. Let the fabric dry

Carefully cut around the edges of the hole with the utility knife to remove the burned edges from around the hole.

Cut a piece of foam rubber with the utility knife so that it is about as big as the hole. Apply some white glue to the bottom of the foam rubber.

Insert the foam rubber into the hole and smooth it out so that it is level with the top of the hole. Let the glue dry

Take a piece of fabric from the fabric upholstery seat repair kit that matches the car seat. Cut a piece of the fabric with the utility knife so that it is just a bit larger than the hole.

Apply the adhesive from the fabric upholstery seat repair kit to one side of the cut piece of fabric. Press the fabric down over the hole and hold it until the glue sets. Leave the car window down and let the adhesive set overnight.
