Things You'll Need:

  • Mary Kay independent beauty consultant
  • Email or print invitations
  • Appetizers
  • Beverages
  • Desserts
  • Party decor
  • Chairs
  • Thank you cards
  1. Step 1

Visit the marykay.com website; click the text that says "shop online with an independent beauty consultant today!" Enter your zip code and find a representative in your area.

  2. Step 2

Call your local representative with list of dates and times you're available to host a party in your home. Once you settle on a date and time, prepare to send invitations to your guests. Gather the mailing and email addresses of your female friends and family members. Be sure your invitations include a phone number or email address for RSVPs.

  3. Step 3

Create invitations for your Mary Kay party. Consider using pink, black and white, since those colors are often associated with the Mary Kay brand. Deliver them by postal mail or email.

  4. Step 4

Shop for food and decor for your Mary Kay party. Select appetizers like crackers and cheese, fruit salad, humus, taco dip and chicken fingers. Be sure to pick up a variety of beverages, as well as desserts. Choose decor that matches your pink, black and white color scheme. Ideas include candles, rose petals, boas, streamers, paper lanterns and balloons.

  5. Step 5

Check your RSVPs and update your independent beauty consultant with the final count of your guest list. She'll want to get an idea of how many people plan to attend your event so she can bring enough supplies for demonstrations and giveaways.

  6. Step 6

Decorate your home in preparation of yor guests' arrival. Set up chairs facing the area where the representative will speak. Arrange your refreshments on an easily accessible table.

  7. Step 7

Help your independent Mary Kay sales representative set up her demonstration pieces immediately upon her arrival. Welcome your guests individually as they arrive and walk them to the party area.

  8. Step 8

Provide your independent sales representative with assistance throughout the party, as needed. Check regularly to make sure that your guests are comfortable, refreshed and enjoying the party.

  9. Step 9

Thank each guest for coming as she leaves, and extend equal thanks to your Mary Kay representative. After the event, mail thank you cards to all who attended.
