How to Get R.O.B. in Mario Kart DS

R.O.B., the Robotic Operating Buddy, was an accessory released in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. R.O.B.'s functions as a game controller were limited, but the device helped to sell NES consoles. R.O.B. has appeared as a character in several Nintendo video games, including "Star Fox," "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" and "Mario Kart DS." To unlock R.O.B. as a racer in "Mario Kart DS," several tracks and race modes must first be accessed in the game.

Instructions

1. Earn gold medals in the Shell Cup and Banana Cup in the 150cc class to unlock the Leaf Cup 150cc class.

2. Earn a gold medal in the Leaf Cup 150cc class to unlock the Lightning Cup 150cc class.

3. Earn a gold medal in the Lightning Cup in the 150cc class to unlock 150cc mirror mode.

4. Earn gold medals in 150cc mirror mode in all four cups in either the Nitro Grand Prix or the Retro Grand Prix to unlock R.O.B.

Tips & Warnings

• R.O.B.'s karts include the ROB-LGS and ROB-BLS, heavy vehicles that have superior acceleration and handling.
