1
Start by drawing your name. This is the easiest way to get accustomed to graffiti drawing. Consider the styles. There's wide style, throw up, blockbuster and tag style, among others. Letters can be fat and rounded, square, evenly spaced or overlapping. Rounded or squared typically works best for beginners.

2
Sketch the outline of each letter of your name first. Make the letter edges rounded so that each letter is fat, but leave enough space between each letter to work with depth and shading. Add a couple of thin pencil lines on each letter to give them the appearance of plump wrinkles.

Add an outside line to each of the letters to add a layer of dimension. Connect the outside line to the letter and shade the area in with pencil. Add a few strokes of pencil shading to the rest of the letters as well, but not too thick. You want to add shading without coloring the letters in.

4
Go over each letter with a bright colored pencil. Try to use a variety of colors that go well together, or use varied shades of the same color. Go over the 3D elements of the letters with a black, brown or gray color.
