How to Make Yard Art
Yard art can add personal touches to your front lawn. Artwork pops up seasonally as a way to customize holiday decorations. Yard art can be elaborate or simple, depending on your goal and your woodworking and painting skills. You can make simple art boards with basic carpentry tools and art skills, but the more elaborate your designs, the more skills you will need. Start with simple projects that allow you to master your skills, and add new designs with each season and new year.

Tips & Warnings
To give your yard art more depth and dimension, trace components of your image on several pieces of plywood. Cut these components out, and use wood glue to attach them over the section on the main image. For example, if you are creating Santa Claus, trace his entire image on the first sheet of plywood. Then trace the buckle and the presents on another. Cut these out, and glue them on the original to create a three-dimensional design.
