3. Don't feel pressured to communicate.

   Just because you are looking around on the Craigslist website doesn't mean you need to buy, sell, or contact anyone. Take your time. No one is forcing you to use the website, especially if you don't feel comfortable.

4. Be honest and considerate in your communications.

   If you choose to respond to an ad be considerate and honest in your communication. Honesty will get you far in email communication. There is no point being dishonest.

5. Stick to your gut feelings.
