Instructions

  1. Hanging a Candle Sconce

      Measure up the wall 5 1/2 to 6 feet from the floor to the spot where you will insert the wall anchor.

      Mark the wall with the pencil.

      Hammer the nail with the anchor into place.

      Hang the sconce on the wall. Place the candle on the sconce.

      Measure up the wall from the floor to 5 1/2 to 6 feet and designate the anchor spot with a marking .

      Measure on the back of the chandelier how many inches there are between the number of hangers you will need. Using this guide, gauge where the anchor locations will be on the wall. Estimate from the first mark and mark your points.

      Make your estimates uniform by using the tape measure up the wall from the floor for each anchor to the same height as in the first step. Then, use a laser or bubble level to level the line across the wall.

      Put the chandelier in place and position the candles.

  • Purchase the type of candle for which your sconce is designed.

  • Accent mirrors, picture frames, and windows with candles.

  • The wall chandelier may also hang suspended from a hook in the ceiling.

  • Install a sconce with a glass globe tall enough to set around the entire candle to prevent wax leakage.

  • Hang your wall candles away from drapery.

  • Hang candles high enough, or out of the way so hair and clothing won't catch on fire.

  • Check the size of the wall anchor. Be sure they are not to large or the hook to small, or your sconce could fall under the weight of the candle.

  • Do not look at the laser in the level. The laser can damage your eye.
