How to Win Him Back When He Thinks You Are Too Possessive
Breakups can be hard for all involved, but this is especially true when your possessiveness caused the breakup. You may be going over all the mistakes you made in your head and wondering what you could have done differently. Your relationship does still stand a chance though. If you can show him that you recognize your mistake and want to get back together, you may be able to win him back when he thinks you are too possessive.

1
Allow him to have some freedom. After a breakup, it's smart to give him some space to think about the situation. If you immediately try to beg him to take you back, he'll just see you as even more possessive than when you were together. As hard as it may be, you need to allow him the freedom to do what he wants to do. This shows him that you don't have to be possessive.

2
Determine why you are possessive. You probably never realized that you were possessive in your relationship. Now that you know that it's a problem, try to think of the reason for your possessiveness. Perhaps your father left your mother when you were young or a former boyfriend cheated on you. Recognizing the reasons for yourwill help you to deal with it.

Meet with him. After some time has passed, you'll want to meet with him to try to get back together. He may not want to see you. If this is the case, don't press the issue--it will only make you seem possessive. Try to meet at a party or other group setting.

Explain that you have changed and want a second chance. When you meet with him, tell him that you now understand where your issues were coming from. Ask him to give you a chance to prove that you can give him the freedom that he needs while still being a couple.

Tips & Warnings
If he still seems uninterested, it's time to move on. There's no use chasing after a relationship that wasn't meant to be.
Avoid playing tricks or mind games to get him back, such as making him jealous by going out with someone else. These attempts are usually transparent and could push him further away.
