How to Attach a Front License Plate to a Mustang

Front license plates are required by law in many states, but not all cars come with a front license plate bracket. You could risk not having a front license plate, but there's a possibility of getting a costly traffic ticket. To avoid getting a ticket for not having a front license plate, attach a front license plate bracket to your Ford Mustang. Attaching the bracket is easy and quick, but you must screw into the bumper to accomplish this task.

Things You'll Need

• Front license plate bracket
• Screws
• Screwdriver

Instructions

1. Place the license plate bracket up against the front bumper in the center of your Mustang.

2. Install the screws into the bracket. Use a Philips or flat-head screwdriver, and push in as you tighten the screws. The screws are self-tapping and don't require pilot holes.

3. Position the license plate inside the license plate bracket, and screw the plate to the bracket with a screwdriver.

Tips & Warnings

• You can buy the front license plate bracket from your local auto parts store. The hardware should be included with the bracket.

• To make installation even easier, you could place the license plate bracket against the bumper and mark where the screws go with a sharp object. Then remove the bracket and tighten the screws into the bumper. Remove the screws and then install the bracket.

• Wear eye protection to avoid eye injury.
