How to Make Beach-Themed Invitations

Homemade wedding invitations add a personal touch for small venue weddings. Weddings for smaller groups lend themselves to greater creativity for invitations. If you want to avoid additional postage for bulky invitations, consider scanning this invitation and printing copies or for local guests consider delivering the invitations in person. For the best result, consider purchasing the envelopes at the same time as the card stock to ensure the appropriate size is obtained.

Instructions

  1. Inside

    • 1

Determine who is presenting the invitations. Usually, it is the parents of the bride and the invitations will have a phrase such as, "Mr. and Mrs. John Evan White request the honor of your presence at." For more modern invitations where the couple is issuing the invitations, the wording is typically: "Jane Ella White & John Frank Thomas request the honor of your presence."

    • 2

List the location of the ceremony, spelling out the entire address. For example,
      First Baptist Church
Fourteen Ninety-One North Whispering Wind Drive
      Mesa, Arizona

    • 3

List the date and time, spelling out the numerals. For example, July thirteenth two thousand and ten at twelve o'clock.

    • 4

Print or write out the inside information. When printing, consider using a formal cursive font, such as "Amaze." If handwriting the information, it is considered proper to use calligraphy. Buy calligraphy books and pens at any craft store such as Michaels.

    Front

    • 5

Fold the card stock in half lengthwise.

    • 6

Cover the front of the card in glue using the glue stick. Sprinkle the card with beach sand and allow to dry for one hour. The card can be enhanced with glittered white sand. Turn the card upside-down to remove any unglued sand.

    • 7

Glue the starfish to the front center of the card with a hot glue gun.
