How to Seal a Concrete Basement Floor
Basements are often overlooked when it comes to floor finishing, as most seem to be simply used for storage and basic utility. While concrete is a generally durable material, sealing these floors can greatly lengthen their longevity and, with the right sealer, can create an attractive floor that rivals ceramic tile or marble. Clean any dust and debris from the floor using the vacuum cleaner.

Carefully pour the sealer into the bucket and soak the mop.

Apply the sealer, evenly, to the concrete floor using the mop. Start the sealer application in the side of the room that opposes the exit to avoid getting trapped in a corner.

Allow sealer to dry according to the drying time tables indicated on the sealer packaging, and apply additional coats as necessary. Repeat these steps in any additional rooms to be sealed.
