How to Install a Volume Control Program

Whether it is because the onboard volume control options do not provide enough variety or you are using an operating system that does not have such a program, there are many reasons to install a third-party volume control program. The installation process is simple for the user (since it is automated) and will only take a couple of minutes.

Instructions

  1. Installing a Volume Control Program

    • 1

Download the volume control program you wish to install onto your computer. If you have already done this, skip to Step 2.

    • 2

Double-click on the program to boot it. This will bring up a pop-up window that you will work in for the remainder of the installation process.

    • 3

Accept the terms and conditions that are set by the program. The program will not install if you do not agree to the terms and conditions.

    • 4

Navigate through the options given during the installation process to determine where you want the installation files saved and how the volume control program will operate upon system startup (i.e. will it boot every time your PC turns on?). Once done, click "Next."

    • 5

Select the audio drivers you want the volume control program to access. If you are using the default audio drivers on your motherboard you will only have one set. If you are using a third-party sound card you will most likely have several sets of drivers to choose from.

    • 6

Allow between two and five minutes for the program to install to your machine. Once the installation is finished, reset your machine to complete the installation process.

Tips & Warnings

  • Installing third-party programs of this type can lead to problems with your operating system in the future. Keep this in mind before deciding whether or not to install a volume control program.
