How to Use Rubbing Alcohol on The Face When Pregnant

Hormonal changes during pregnancy often result in oily skin, clogged pores and unpleasant, painful acne that is difficult to control and clear up. Rubbing alcohol can be used to dry the oils in the skin and may help lessen the appearance of acne. However, you will want to take precautions if using rubbing alcohol while pregnant, since it puts off fumes which can be hazardous if continually inhaled.

Wash your face as you normally would and pat it dry with a clean towel.

Saturate a cotton pad with rubbing alcohol, and gently rub it over your skin in circular motions. Take care to avoid applying rubbing alcohol directly under the nose so you don't inhale dangerous fumes.

Allow the alcohol to air dry.

Apply a layer of face cream or lotion containing vitamin E to keep the skin from drying out. Moisturize throughout the day.

Repeat the process at night before going to bed to cut down on nighttime skin oiliness.
