The natural ingredients used in these homemade eye care mixtures are not only more cost effective than pharmaceutical products, but they are often healthier to use and safer for the environment as well. Instructions

  1. Homemade Eye Rinse

    • 1

Mix two parts green tea to one part water. It is important to use distilled water rather than tap water since many of the chemicals and bacteria in tap water can do more harm than good.

    • 2

Boil the tea mixture for several minutes to reduce any lingering impurities.

    • 3

Refrigerate for several hours to let the homemade eye rinse cool.

    • 4

Strain the eye rinse to remove any residue.

    • 5

Apply the green tea eye rinse mixture directly to your eyes by using an eye dropper or by simply pouring it into your eyes directly from a cup.

    Homemade Eye Makeup Remover

    • 6

Mix one part olive oil with two parts canola oil. If possible, use extra-virgin olive oil.

    • 7

Stir vigorously to ensure a smooth mixture.

    • 8

Dip a cotton ball into the mixture. Dab it gently on your eyelashes and eyelids. Repeat the process until you have removed all of your eye makeup.

    • 9

Rinse your face and eyes with moderately cool water. Your face should not only be free of makeup but should feel clean and refreshed as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always consult your physician before attempting to use any homemade eye care remedy.
