Instructions

    • 1

Measure the circumference of the baby's head from the top of her forehead, behind her ears and just above the nape of her neck. Subtract about 1/2 an inch from this measurement.

    • 2

Cut a piece of 1/2-inch-wide stretch ribbon trim to the final measurement above.

    • 3

Pin the ends of the ribbon together, with the ends overlapping by about 1/4 of an inch. Sew a straight stitch to join the ends together and then sew over the same stitches a few times for extra strength.

    • 4

Pin the large satin bow over top of the seam line.

    • 5

Sew the bow to the headband. Add an extra row of stitches for extra strength.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make a headband that can coordinate with a variety of outfits. Make the headband from a neutral-colored ribbon and cut several 1 1/2-inch-long strips of hook and loop fastener. Sew a different colored bow to each of the fasteners. Wrap one of the fasteners around the headband to secure and then replace with a different colored bow to match the next outfit.
