How to Lessen Muscle Soreness
Sore muscles happen to everyone and sometimes on a daily basis. Whether you run, ski or climb, sore muscles are a everyday part of being active. There are a variety of ways to lessen sore muscles from massage to ibuprofen. Below are some simple things you can do to help relieve or prevent sore muscles.

Do a proper cool down after working out to relax the muscles. A cool down can include a walk or a light jog.

Stretch your muscles out after exercise or at the onset of soreness. Hold each stretch for a minimum of 30 seconds.

Massage your muscles the direction of the muscle and moving towards the heart. Massage tools can also be used to loosen tightness and relieve pain.

Take a hot Epsom salts bath to lessen muscle soreness. Add two cups of Epsom salts to the bath and soak for at least 15 minutes.

Use a heating pad on areas of soreness for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Make sure to put a towel in between your skin and the pad to keep from burning yourself.

Take ibuprofen to relieve pain, swelling and soreness.
