Find a selection of sites to use for your games. Try Funbrain.com, which has activities for grade levels one through eight. Or check out Coolmath.com, which has games for kids as well as resources for teachers, such as a reward chart generator and lesson plan ideas. Scholastic.com has activities organized by grade level groupings; one set for kindergarten through second grade and another for third grade through fifth grade.

Bookmark the sites you like on your classroom computers; this way your students will be able to find them easily.

Set up a computer center in your classroom, if you have the resources available. Post a list of computer time rules (such as using the computers for approved reasons only, sharing the computer time with other classmates and following the school's acceptable use policies). Include headphones, so your students can hear the web site audio tracks without disturbing their classmates.

If you do not have the facilities to put computers in your classroom, print a list of rules and math game web sites to take with you to the media center or computer lab in your school; distribute copies of this list to your students when you use the school's computers during class time.

Plan time for computer usage. If you have computers in your classroom, you can let students play fun math games when they finish their class work early. Or plan computer time as a center and mix it up with other centers, such as flash cards or pair work. If you have to travel outside of your classroom to use the computers, consider making weekly or bimonthly visits to the computer lab for your students to play games. They can have fun and learn at the same time, and it will give you a break from instruction for a while.
