How to Put Ribbon on Truffle Favor Boxes
Edible favors such as truffles ensure your guests won't immediately deposit your potentially costly tokens of remembrance into a recycling bin or junk drawer. When purchasing truffle boxes from a local candy retailer or online service, personalize them to the color of your wedding and save money by adding ribbon yourself to the truffle boxes. Purchase ribbon to coordinate with table settings, flowers or bridesmaid dresses, or add the classic elegance of white or black. Get help from friends and family at a ribbon-tying party to make this task fun.

1
Wrap a piece of ribbon attached to a spool around a truffle favor box, and tie a bow as closely as possible to the one you desire on the finished product, with one end of the ribbon attached to the spool.
-
2
Hold the ribbon end attached to the spool with your fingers at the approximate point you would want the second tail on the bow to hang. While still holding on to the ribbon in the same spot, untie the bow.
-
-
3
Move your fingers holding the spool end of the ribbon a few centimeters down the ribbon away from the cut end. This will give your ribbon a margin for error in tying the bow.
-
4
Cut the ribbon where your fingers have marked.
-
5
Use the cut ribbon as a measuring tool to cut the rest of the ribbon in same-size pieces. If you haven't yet purchased all of the ribbon, calculate the amount needed in the following manner: Measure the cut ribbon in inches and divide by 36 to determine the number of yards needed. Round up to the next larger yard. Divide the number of total yards needed by the number of yards contained on each spool to determine how many spools you need. Round up to the next larger number.

Wrap each cut piece of ribbon around a truffle box. Cross the ends and loop one end under to begin tying the bow. Add the personalized wedding tag or charm around one end of the ribbon, slide it down to the truffle box, and then complete the bow, tying the charm or tag into it.

Tips & Warnings
Add personalized touches to your bow or box like faux pearls or flowers with a glue gun after adding the ribbon to the truffle boxes.
Keep truffles cool until ready to serve to avoid melting and to preserve freshness. Do not leave them in a hot car or next to a heater.
